Manson Construction employee alleges unsafe working environment caused injuries

Lawsuits

BEAUMONT – A Jones Act seaman alleges he was injured while working for a construction company because of an unsafe working environment.

Frederick Singleton filed a complaint on June 22 in the Jefferson County District Court against Manson Construction Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in June 26, 2015, he experienced an accident in Sabine while on the defendant's vessel, which resulted in serious and painful injuries to his left leg, back and other parts of his body. He alleges he has suffered lost wages and benefits, medical expenses and disfigurement as a result.

The plaintiff holds Manson Construction Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe work environment, failed to provide adequate equipment and personnel for the job and breached its duty to provide maintenance and cure benefits.

The plaintiff seeks actual and exemplary damages, interest, costs, attorney's fees and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Marcus R. Spagnoletti and Eric J. Rhine of Spagnoletti & Co. in Houston.
