HOUSTON – A waitress’s slip and fall lawsuit alleges her employer’s gimmick involving used bottle caps caused her to suffer injuries.

Angela Castro brought the suit against Hilario and Francisca Rios, doing business as La Vallita Night Club, on July 25 in the Harris County 190th District Court.

The original petition says the business allows customers who order bottles of beer to throw the caps on the floor. Castro alleges that she slipped and fell on the aforementioned caps.

“Despite having actual notice that there were bottle caps on the floor, the defendants took no action to remove the bottle caps during operating hours,” the complaint says.

Consequently, Castro seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Shaw Clifford of the Law Office of Shaw Clifford in Houston.
