Female scaffolding helper alleges foreman sexually harassed her

Lawsuits

HOUSTON – A scaffolding company has been sued by a female employee on allegations of sexual harassment, per recent Harris County District Court records.

Conception “Connie” Sanchez filed a lawsuit against Brand Energy Solutions LLC, now known as Brand Safeway LLC, on July 27 in the Harris County 157th District Court.

In the 7-page complaint, Sanchez alleges that her foreman, Andres Melendez, made unwanted advances toward her. Employed as a scaffolding helper by the defendant, the plaintiff recalls instances in which Melendez approached her about giving him oral sex.

Melendez also purportedly “made frequent comments to (Sanchez) about her breasts,” to which she told him leave her alone.

Court documents assert that Sanchez reported her foreman to no avail.

“To plaintiff’s knowledge, no one did anything about the sexual harassment because it continued,” the original petition says.

According to the plaintiff, she was transferred elsewhere, but her hourly pay was reduced by $3. The suit claims these actions were in response to her complaints about Melendez.

Consequently, Sanchez seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Peter Costea of Houston.
