HOUSTON – A concrete products company is alleged to have terminated an African-American driver because of his race.

Cedric Beasley filed a complaint on Aug. 3 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Alamo Concrete Products Co. alleging racial discrimination and retaliation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by the defendant in 2007 as a concrete mixer driver by the defendant's predecessor. The suit states the plaintiff encountered racial discrimination from Latino employees, which he complained about. He alleges that on March 7, 2016, he was terminated from his employment with the defendant, despite excelling at his job for nearly nine years.

The plaintiff holds Alamo Concrete Products Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against him based in part upon his race and terminated him in retaliation for engaging in protected activity.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, interest, attorneys' fees, costs and such other and further relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Terrence B. Robinson and Laura A. Hernandez of TB Robinson Law Group PLLC in Houston.
