HOUSTON – A Houston man alleges he is owed for more than 80 hours of paid time off from his former employer.

Kyle Wiese filed a complaint on Aug. 6 in the Harris County District Court against Summit Midstream Partners LLC alleging that the former employer violated the Texas Payday Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began working for the defendant in 2014 and in his offer letter, he was provided 160 hours of paid time off per calendar year. The suit states as of Jan. 1, he had a total of 200 hours of paid time off and used 12 hours earlier this year.

He alleges when he decided to end his employment with the defendant, the defendant only offered to pay 101 hours of paid time off and he is suing for the remaining 87 hours.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of $100,000 or less and all other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by John H. McFarland and Jason E. Beesinger of Joyce & McFarland LLP in Houston.
