GALVESTON – A patron of a Galveston grocery store alleges its failure to maintain the premises caused her to fall.

Darlene Stanley filed a complaint on Aug. 7 in the Galveston County District Court against Arlan’s Markets Inc., doing business as Arlan’s No. 5-Galveston, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 15, she was a patron at the defendant's store and she slipped and fell on liquid in the meat department. She alleges she suffered serious and permanent bodily injuries resulting in loss of earning capacity, pain and mental anguish as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds Arlan’s Markets Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently in maintaining the premises and failed to warn of it.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000, but not more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Roy Camberg of The Camberg Law Firm PC in Houston.
