HOUSTON – A truck repair shop has been implicated in a customer’s personal injury lawsuit.

According to court papers filed on Aug. 10 in the Harris County 234th District Court, an Akita dog on the premises of the Mancia Tire Service Corp. attacked plaintiff Anthony Kelley last year.

On Mar. 7, 2017, Kelley went to the defendant’s store in east Houston to pay a $2,100 bill for automotive repairs. The canine in question “suddenly” assaulted the complainant as he was heading toward his vehicle after paying his bill, the suit says.

Kelley claims the dog “viciously” bit him on his left thigh, asserting he suffered a deep puncture wound. He was taken to the St. Joseph Medical Center following the subject incident.

The suit faults the business for negligent handling of an animal, which it reportedly uses for security.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Jacques P. Leeds of Leeds Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
