HOUSTON – A federal lawsuit alleging a security professional was discriminated against because of his religion and disability was recently dismissed.
According to Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas records, U.S. District Judge David Hittner ordered the dismissal of Brian Wilson’s suit against Universal Protection Services, doing business as Allied Universal, last month.
As previously reported by The Southeast Texas Record, Wilson pursued legal action in late May, claiming the business told him on a few occasions to remove his cross necklace. The plaintiff reportedly continued to wear the cross.
He asserted the respondent wrongfully terminated him for “sleeping on the job” though his suit said he was resting as a result of being diabetic.
Wilson’s ex-employer did not provide an original answer to the allegations.
