Car accident 16

GALVESTON – A local woman has filed a lawsuit against a discount retailer following an alleged collision last month with one of its employees, recent Galveston County District Court records show.

Holly Cooper-Roell’s suit against the Target Corp. claims an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer owned by the business struck her vehicle along Avenue J on July 23. Court documents were filed on Aug. 14 in the Galveston County 122nd District Court.

Cooper-Roell says the tractor-trailer “ran over a curb” while making a right turn prior to the accident, stating that she sustained injuries and her vehicle was rendered “a total loss.”

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Anthony G. Buzbee and Bret Griffin of The Buzbee Law Firm in Houston.
