HOUSTON – A Katy law firm is alleged to have mailed a debt collection letter without the proper disclosures.

Marlon Robinson, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on Aug. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas against Johnny Law Taylor Law PLLC alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 4, he received an initial written communication from the defendant demanding payment on an allegedly defaulted loan.

The plaintiff holds Johnny Law Taylor Law PLLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide proper disclosures in its initial written communications or within five days thereafter in violation of the FDCPA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order declaring that this action is a proper class action, award for actual and statutory damages, plus interest, costs and attorneys’ fees and such other and further relief to which plaintiff is justly entitled. He is represented by Aaron D. Radbil of Greenwald Davidson Radbil PLLC in Austin.
