GALVESTON – A Louisiana couple alleges the husband was injured when his vehicle was rear-ended while exiting a ferry at the Galveston dock.

Richard Colletti and Kally Colletti filed a complaint on Aug. 15 in the Galveston County District Court against Texas Energy Logistics LLC, Lyndon Jones, Genesis Marine LLC and Genesis Energy LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 22, 2016, Richard Colletti was driving a rental car supplied by his employer, defendant Genesis, when his vehicle was struck by the tanker truck driven by defendant Jones, an employee of defendant Texas Energy. Richard Colletti also alleges his employer, Genesis, failed to have him seen by a physician before letting him return to work as a seaman.

He alleges as a result of the collision, he has suffered injuries resulting in pain, suffering and mental anguish, medical expenses, disfigurement and loss of earning capacity.

The plaintiffs holds Texas Energy Logistics LLC, Jones, Genesis Marine LLC and Genesis Energy LLC responsible because defendant Genesis failed to have seen by a physician and approved for full return to work, and Jones and Texas Energy allegedly failed to control their vehicle's speed and failed to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief in an amount greater than $1 million and all other relief to which they are justly entitled. They are represented by Chris L. Walker of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
