HOUSTON – A customer of a Kingwood salon alleges she was injured because a chair caused her to fall.

Catrice McDonald filed a complaint on Aug. 27 in the Harris County District Court against THVN Investments Inc., doing business as Nail Expertise, and Nam Hoang alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 26, 2016, she was receiving beauty wax services at Nail Expertise in Kingwood when the service chair she was directed to sit in collapsed because it was not properly locked, causing her to flip backward and fall. She alleges she sustained significant injuries resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earnings and medical expenses as a result.

The plaintiff holds THVN Investments Inc. and Hoang responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to inspect the premises, failed to supervise their agents and employees.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of no less than $100,000 but no more than $200,000 and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Natalie N. Soas and Michael A. Crozier of Kelley Law Firm PC in Dallas.
