GALVESTON – Benny Agosto, Jr. of the law firm Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston has filed a lawsuit on behalf of six men who claimed they were injured in an industrial accident in Texas City earlier this year, recent Galveston County District Court records show.
The legal complaint, which was filed against Valero Refining-Texas LP on Sept. 6 in the Galveston County 10th District Court, states that James Dickson, Marvin Forasiepi, Angel Gutierrez, Troy Ridenour, Jose Vargas, and Nathan Walker were working at the BP Chemicals refinery last Apr. 19 when an explosion occurred at the defendant’s nearby facility.
Valero is accused of negligence and gross negligence. Labeling the plaintiffs’ injuries as “serious,” court papers consequently seek unspecified monetary damages.
