HOUSTON – A local man claims he was injured on a Greyhound bus almost two years ago and has pursued legal action against the intercity transportation company in state district court.

Ryan Holland’s lawsuit, which was filed on Sept. 5 in the Harris County 165th District Court, says the plaintiff was hurt by an unsecured, fully reclined seat when the driver made an abrupt stop.

“The seat shifted forward when the defendant abruptly hit the brakes and upon him accelerating the seat shifted back, causing severe and debilitating injuries to the plaintiff,” court documents state.

Consequently, Holland seeks more than $200,000 in damages.

Adam P. Criaco of the law firm Criaco & Associates in Houston is representing the complainant.
