HOUSTON – A state district lawsuit accuses a pharmacy store chain of erroneously giving a local man the wrong medication two years ago.

In court documents filed on Sept. 6 in the Harris County 127th District Court, Keenon Reed alleges Walgreens negligently gave him the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra instead of his prescription for Cyclobenzaprine, Tramadol, and Amoxcillin.

Legally blind, Reed explains that he put in an order for the three medications at the Walgreens located at 21106 Kuykendahl Rd. on July 1, 2016, stating he “suddenly began to experience unusual symptoms” after ingesting what he thought were his medicines.

These symptoms included “constant headaches, firm penal erections for long periods of time, and an accelerated heart rate,” according to the 8-page suit.

The plaintiff realized that he had taken 100mg tablets of Viagra after complaining to his son.

“Mr. Reed had no way of knowing that the prescription he was ingesting was incorrect because he is legally blind and took the medications as provided to him,” the suit says.

Court papers add that the Viagra in Reed’s system restricted him from taking his antibiotics.

Consequently, Reed seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Troy J. Pradia of The Cox Pradia Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
