HOUSTON – A Washington resident is seeking more than $1 million from his employer over alleged spine injuries he sustained while working on a towing vessel.

Nicholas Meyer filed a complaint on Sept. 4 in the Harris County District Court against Harley Marine Gulf LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 22, he was injured while in the course and scope of his employment with defendant working aboard the towing vessel the Shauna Kay. He alleges he injured his spine when he was required to lift a heavy airplane tire for use as a bumper on a vessel.

The plaintiff holds Harley Marine Gulf LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate safety equipment and failed to provide adequate medical treatment.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Ryan H. Zehl and Kevin Haynes of Zehl & Associates PC in Houston.
