GALVESTON – A state district judge has granted two Friendswood businesses a temporary restraining order in its litigation against a woman they claim is harassing their tenants.

Galveston County District Court records show that 212nd District Judge Patricia Grady issued the TRO against Lauren Benson on Sept. 11.

Commerce Equities Management Co., Inc. and 400 West Parkwood, Ltd. sued Benson on allegations she threatened legal action against two renters at 400 W. Parkwood Ave. last month.

The defendant insinuates that the tenants broke an easement agreement though the latter are not parties to such, the original petition states.

Benson reportedly wrote letters that “are harassing and constitute tortuous interference.” The TRO bars her from sending communications “to the tenants in any of the suites at the” complainants’ commercial property.

A temporary injunction hearing is scheduled for Sept. 20 at 3 p.m.
