BEAUMONT – A Louisiana couple is seeking damages after the husband was injured by a pipe.

Jared Maricelli and Marci Nicole Maricelli filed a complaint on Sept. 5 in the Jefferson County District Court against Fluor Enterprises Inc., AMEC Foster Wheeler USA Corp., et al. alleging design defect and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Nov. 22, 2016, Jared Maricelli was injured when a threaded pipe, which was designed, manufactured and/or installed by the defendants, unexpectedly rotated and struck him. He alleges he sustained injuries resulting in medical expenses, pain, mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement and lost wages as a result.

The plaintiffs hold Fluor Enterprises Inc., AMEC Foster Wheeler USA Corp., et al. responsible because an alleged design defect in the pipe rendered the system unreasonably dangerous.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other legal relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Jane S. Leger of The Ferguson Law Firm LLC in Beaumont.
