HOUSTON – A pawn shop has been sued by a Harris County woman who claims she tripped over equipment on the premises almost two years ago.

Debbie Sweat brought a personal injury lawsuit against EZ Pawn on Sept. 10 in the Harris County 125th District Court.

She explains that she was walking toward the movie section of the defendant’s business located at 10806 S. Post Oak Rd. on Oct. 20, 2016 when the incident in question occurred.

According to court documents, the plaintiff “twisted her ankle and body in order to grad a hold of the rack that held the movies to avoid completely falling.”

Sweat adds that the pain in her back and ankle “began to increase overtime.” She reportedly required assistance from relatives and friends “for several days to get around.”

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Dasean A. Jones of Houston.
