SHERMAN – Dallas County resident Nekedra Jones is suing Allied Waste Services, Inc. and Republic Services, Inc. for sexual harassment.

Jones brought a federal lawsuit against her ex-employers on Sept. 12 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas, asserting that operations manager Ricky Lewis made inappropriate advances towards her.

The plaintiff reportedly told Lewis that his conduct made her uncomfortable.

According to the suit, Jones was terminated for supposedly combining her breaks. Stating it was “something (she) had done for years,” the complainant claims her firing was the defendants’ response to her pushing back against Lewis.

Consequently, Jones seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

The law firm Scott | Perez LLP in Dallas is representing the plaintiff.
