HOUSTON – A beauty salon apprentice has filed a state district lawsuit alleging that she was sexually assaulted by her male boss after a night of drinking earlier this year.
Selby Cluff brought the suit against Eric Buffington on Sept. 18 in the Harris County 152nd District Court. According to Cluff, Buffington committed the act against her at Salon Demi, their place of work, late last March.
The suit claims that prior to the subject incident, Buffington and his wife, Georgia, took the plaintiff and her co-workers to District 2.4.9 Sports Bar & Grill for drinks following a wedding reception. Cluff was served alcoholic beverages by the establishment though she was “clearly under the legal drinking age,” the suit says.
Court papers further state that Buffington assaulted her “against her will” as she was “visibly intoxicated and passed out.” Buffington is purportedly a registered sex offender who was convicted of sexually assaulting a child in Tarrant County 20 years ago, the original petition says.
Buffington’s spouse, 2.4.9, and Gaden Enterprises, Inc., doing business as Salon Demi, are listed as co-defendants in the litigation.
Consequently, Cluff seeks unspecified monetary damages.
