HOUSTON – A Harris County woman alleges her left eye was injured during a sinus surgery because of a Houston physician's negligence.

Lynda Kennedy filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in the Harris County District Court against Kathleen McDonald, MD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 29, 2016, she underwent functional endoscopic sinus surgery under the care of defendant. The suit states during the surgery, the defendant penetrated the orbit of her left eye and failed to get an ophthalmology consult following the surgery.

As a result of the defendant's alleged negligence, plaintiff was diagnosed with vertical diplopia on Aug. 24, 2016.

The plaintiff holds McDonald responsible because the defendant allegedly was negligent in penetrating the orbit of plaintiff's left eye.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary damages of more than $200,000 and such other relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Mark A. Weycer and Jennifer E. Sheedy of The Weycer Law Firm PC in Bellaire.
