BEAUMONT – A bone found in a chicken pot pie served at a KFC restaurant is alleged to have broken a Bridge City woman's tooth.

Dewisa Coleman filed a complaint on Sept. 13 in the Jefferson County District Court against Delect Foods Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 30, 2016, she was a customer at defendant's KFC restaurant in Port Arthur and purchased a chicken pot pie. While consuming the food, she alleges her tooth broke due to a large bone that was in the chicken pot pie.

The plaintiff holds Delect Foods Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly inspect the food for defects and failed to give adequate warning of the dangers of consuming their products.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000 and such other and further relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J. J. Bragg in Beaumont.
