HOUSTON – A Houston property owner alleges that a contractor hired to remodel her home walked off of the job.

Danette Matthews filed a complaint on Sept. 25 in the Harris County District Court against Affordable Builders of Texas LLC and Mark Feinhandler alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 31, she contracted the defendant for the complete remodel of her Houston home for $50,000. She alleges on or about March 24, after receiving $24,500, the defendant stopped performing work.

The plaintiff holds Affordable Builders of Texas LLC and Mark Feinhandler responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to perform work in a good and workmanlike manner.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000 and such other and further relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by John J. Patout Jr. of Germer PLLC in Houston.
