HOUSTON — A general manager is suing Aarons Inc., citing alleged retaliation and wrongful termination.

Chad Mosby filed a complaint on Sept. 24, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas, against Aarons Inc. alleging that the former employer violated the Family and Medical Leave Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between February and March 2017, he needed time to take protected leave to assist in taking care of his very ill newborn.

As a result, he was terminated on April 1, 2017, according to the lawsuit.

He has suffered grievous harm, lost wages and benefits, mental anguish, humiliation and embarrassment among co-workers. The plaintiff holds Aarons Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated and terminated him for engaging in protected activity.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and all other relief proper and just. He is represented by Ellen Sprovach of Rosenberg & Sprovach in Houston.
