HOUSTON — Marylou Robins filed a complaint on Oct. 1, in the Harris County District Court, against JAIBI Inc., alleging that the commercial property manager failed to keep a strip shopping mall it owns safe for the public.

Robins alleges that on March 29, 2017, she was injured at Will Clayton Plaza, a strip shopping mall that JAIBI owns, maintains and manages, when she fell while walking on the sidewalk.

Her injuries allegedly caused impairment and disfigurement, according to court documents. She claims to have incurred medical expenses and lost wages.

She holds JAIBI Inc. responsible, because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect its premises to identify problems and take measures to prevent dangerous conditions.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of $400,000, with interest, penalties, costs and such other legal and equitable relief to which she may be justly entitled.

She is represented by R. Gary Stephens of Stephens & Stephens in Richmond.
