GALVESTON – A tenant of a Houston apartment alleges that he was injured when he fell on wire mesh and that the owner of the apartment failed to warn of it.

Shawn Clifton filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in the Galveston County District Court against Next Springwood LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 17, he was a resident at defendant's apartment at 1500 Witte Road No. 145, Houston. While walking outside the apartment complex, he alleges he tripped and fell on wire mesh that was hidden in the grass and was severely injured.

The plaintiff holds Next Springwood LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to place effective caution signs warning of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may show himself justly entitled. He is represented by Matthew Menter and John A. Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
