HOUSTON – A local woman alleges that she sustained severe injuries last year when she entered an elevator at a hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

In a lawsuit filed against Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, Inc.; Janus Elevator Products, Inc.; and Thyssenkrupp Elevator on Oct. 5 in the Harris County 151st District Court, Erin Cannon attributes her trip and fall at the Memorial Hermann Hospital Texas Medical Center on May 19, 2017 to the elevator coming to an “uneven” stop with the floor.

“The leveling problem with the elevator had existed for some time prior to the plaintiff’s fall,” the suit says.

Cannon adds that she “did not know that the elevator had stopped above the floor level.”

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Keith M. Fletcher of the law firm Simmons & Fletcher in Houston.
