HOUSTON — The resident of an apartment injured in an assault is suing Acquisition Broadway Square alleging the building owner failed to provide adequate security or lighting to make the area safer.

Kenneth Mount filed a complaint on Oct. 4, in the Harris County District Court, against Acquisition Broadway Square, alleging that the apartment owner failed to maintain control of the premises and address dangerous conditions.

The plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 6, 2016, he was at the Alta Verde Apartments when he was injured in an assault. His serious injuries disfigured him. He incurred medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Acquisition Broadway Square responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate security and lighting to prevent this from happening and failed to to take appropriate steps to limit access to the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than $100,000 in damages and other and relief to which he may be entitled.

He is represented by Mohammad Abdel-Rahman of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
