HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges he was injured while loading a truck for his employer because the truck he was provided was dysfunctional.

Pedro Manzano filed a complaint on Oct. 15 in the Harris County District Court against V.I.P. Relocation and Storage LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 3, he was employed by the defendant and was standing in the bed of a truck to load items. He alleges he was injured when the truck's ramp collapsed and that the truck he was provided was "dysfunctional, unregistered and has an unsuitable ramp to load items."

The plaintiff holds V.I.P. Relocation and Storage LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide him a reasonable safe place to work and failed to provide the necessary instrumentalities for him to perform his job.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by John Arthur Daspit and Robert Morse of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
