HOUSTON – A Harris County man is seeking damages after a gate near a Katy property shut on his hand and amputated fingers.

Aliam de Armas filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the Harris County District Court against Thind Transport LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 18, he was an invitee at defendant's premises near 19218 Clay Road in Katy when a gate suddenly shut on his hand, causing the amputation of fingers.

The plaintiff holds Thind Transport LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the premises and failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Lee Samuel Perez and Javier Marcos Jr. of The Law Offices of Marcos & Associates PC in Houston.
