HOUSTON – A Conroe man alleges that he was injured while cleaning a client's home because of a broken step.

Kevin McBurnett filed a complaint on Oct. 25 in the Harris County District Court against Dirt Free Restoration Inc., doing business as Dirt Free Carpet Cleaning, alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 25, 2017, he was cleaning carpet at a client's home in Katy when he slipped and fell while walking down the stairs because a step broke. He alleges he sustained severe injury to his back that resulted in extreme pain, discomfort, medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Dirt Free Restoration Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly inspect the premises to ensure that all areas were safe for plaintiff and failed to properly inform him of any existing danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Farrah Martinez of Farrah Martinez PLLC in Houston.
