HOUSTON – One of Texas’ most recognizable trial layers says he wants to put Houston on the map by becoming the city’s next mayor.

Tony Buzbee made the announcement during an interview with KRIV-TV on Oct. 30, openly criticizing the city’s leadership and saying the best thing that can happen for Houston is for him to become mayor.

Over the past year, Buzbee has grabbed quite a few headlines.

Last December, Buzbee made headlines across the state when his date went south and the woman vandalized artwork at his River Oaks residence.

Around the same time, TMZ purportedly obtained a video of the attorney receiving lap dances from strippers during a Hurricane Harvey relief party. The footage in question showed Buzbee sitting on stage taking in the dances while rapper Snoop Dogg performed.

Back in September 2017, the Texas A&M football team’s heartbreaking 45-44 loss to UCLA prompted Buzbee to call for the termination of head coach Kevin Sumlin on Facebook. Buzbee is an A&M Former Student and a member of the board of regents.

Buzbee has also handled many high-profile cases, including obtaining an estimated $400 million for his clients in lawsuit against oil giant BP.
