GALVESTON – A Friendswood couple alleges that a League City contractor left a project and failed to complete the work.

Noe and Judy Martinez filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the Galveston County District Court against Edmond Demiraj, doing business as ALB Painting and Remodeling, alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff contracted the defendant in December 2017 for the renovation/remediation on their home in Friendswood for the sum of $117,800. The plaintiffs allege the defendant asked for another $10,000 and when they refused to pay the amount without supporting documentation, he walked off of the job. They allege they later discovered some of the work the defendant said he completed was not.

The plaintiffs hold Demiraj responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to perform his obligations under the contract.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and such other and further relief to which they may be justly entitled. They are represented by John J. Patout Jr. of The Patout Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
