GALVESTON – An Angleton-based general contractor has filed a lawsuit in response to an alleged $40,053 debt, recent Galveston County District Court records show.

Oscar J. Lerma, doing business as O J Lerma Construction, is suing HSG Constructors, LLC to recover the amount in question.

Court filings dated Oct. 31 explain that the defendant hired Lerma to fabricate removal blankets for the LyondellBasell Plant Ethylene Furnace in La Porte. The task reportedly cost a total of $80,106.

According to the original petition, the respondent tendered half of what was invoiced and “has refused to pay the amount owed.”

A jury trial is requested.
