HOUSTON – Pappas Restaurants Inc. faces a trip and fall lawsuit from one of its employees.

Chastyne Hoffpauir filed the suit on Oct. 31 in the Harris County 269th District Court, claiming that she suffered an injury on Nov. 3, 2016 while working at the defendant’s restaurant in Beaumont.

Employed as a waitress whose responsibilities include carrying large items to the kitchen, Hoffpauir accuses Pappas of removing floor mats “that were normally in the kitchen.”

A puddle of water on the floor also caused the incident in question, the original petition says.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by the law firm Trimble & Grant, PLLC in Houston.
