HOUSTON – A Harris County constable formally denied allegations raised in an ex- employee’s wrongful termination lawsuit.

Harris County Precinct 6 Constable Silvia Trevino provided an original answer last month to the state district suit brought by Radha Patel, a former deputy constable.

As previously reported in The Southeast Texas Record, Patel sued Trevino last Sept. 11 for firing her for opposing the defendant’s purportedly discriminatory employment practices.

Patel claims that Trevino favored Hispanics and refused to hire non-Hispanics or Muslims.

Trevino’s response counters that “she would have taken the same action she did regardless of the plaintiff’s allegations.”

“No adverse employment action was taken against the plaintiff relative to any claim of discrimination,” the 4-page document states.

The Harris County Legal Department is representing the defendant.
