HOUSTON – Markman Management Co. and its president and owner pushed back against a former executive secretary’s state district lawsuit against them.

The defendants denied Veronica Fuentes’s sexual assault allegations in an original answer filed into her lawsuit late last month.

As previously reported in The Southeast Texas Record, Fuentes initiated legal action after Markman’s “relentless unwelcome and highly inappropriate conduct” forced her to resign.

In their formal response, the respondents claim that “they acted in good faith, without malice, and did not violate any applicable law, rule, regulation, or guideline.”

“The defendants did not willfully, maliciously, or intentionally act for the purpose of causing injury to the plaintiff,” the 3-page answer says.

They are represented by the law firm Crain Caton & James in Houston.
