BEAUMONT – A customer of a Vidor business alleges she fell in the store because of a slippery surface.

Brenda Sullivan filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the Jefferson County District Court against Bruce's Market Basket LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 29, 2017, she was walking through defendant's Market Basket store in Vidor when she slipped and fell because of a slippery surface. She alleges she sustained serious injuries to her hip, back, left shoulder, left arm and knee as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds Bruce's Market Basket LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly train its employees and failed to inspect the worksite.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Timothy M. Ferguson and Mark Sparks of The Ferguson Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
