SHERMAN – A Plano consumer alleges an Austin debt collector is contacting him to collect a debt owed by another person.

Eugene Triana filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Gila LLC, doing business as Municipal Services Bureau, alleging violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the defendant has been contacting the defendant to collect an alleged debt owed by another person. The plaintiff alleges in September 2017, he advised the defendant that the alleged debtor could not be reached at his number, but the defendant continued to call.

The plaintiff holds Gila LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly engaged in harassing and abusive tactics in collection with the alleged debt.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages of $1,000, punitive damages and such other and further relief as may be just and proper. He is represented by Jody B. Burton of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
