HOUSTON – A Del Valle woman is seeking more than $500,000 over injuries allegedly sustained in a fall because of a butter-like substance on a restaurant floor.

Barbara Denise Miller filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in the Harris County District Court against Clark Cooper Concepts LP and Ibiza Island Concepts, both doing business as SaltAir Seafood Kitchen, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 4, 2016, the plaintiff was a patron at defendants' SaltAir Seafood Kitchen in Houston when she slipped and fell because of a buttery-like substance on the floor. She alleges she sustained serious and permanent injuries which resulted in pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Clark Cooper Concepts LP and Ibiza Island Concepts, both doing business as SaltAir Seafood Kitchen, responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to keep the premises reasonably safe and failed to provide adequate warning about it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $500,000 and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. He is represented by Jaime M. Lynn and Vernon K. Elkins of The Carlson Law Firm PC in Round Rock.
