GALVESTON – Claiming he was injured in slip and fall incidents on two consecutive days while working on a vessel in the Gulf of Mexico last May, a Louisiana seaman has pursued legal action.

Reynard Navarre blames his employers, REC Marine Logistics, LLC and REC Boats, LLC, for the injuries he sustained on May 5 and 6 in a federal lawsuit filed on Nov. 13.

Court documents state that Navarre slipped on oil on the deck of the OSV Jacob Gerald on May 5. The next day, he purportedly slipped and fell in the vicinity of a “leaking galley ceiling.”

His employers are faulted for failing to maintain the Jacob Gerald and failing to provide him with a safe place to work.

Consequently, Navarre seeks up to $3 million in damages and a jury trial.

The law firm Spagnoletti & Co. in Houston is representing the complainant.
