HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges a weld repair on a rig made by a Houston business failed and caused him injuries.

Vance Crosby filed a complaint on Nov. 13 in the Harris County District Court against A&E Truck and Trailer Repair LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan 16, 2017, he was injured when the fifth wheel of the tractor-trailer that was repaired by defendant failed, causing the trailer to detach from the tractor. He alleges he was thrown forward in the cab and his hand and wrist were injured by the steering wheel.

The plaintiff holds A&E Truck and Trailer Repair LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to test the repair done to the fifth wheel and failed to use proper welding techniques and processes.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Jack Todd Ivey and Jacob D. Barber of Ivey Law Firm PC in Houston.
