HOUSTON – A Katy contractor is alleged to have hired unskilled laborers to repair Hurricane Harvey damages on a property.

Monica Wuilleumier and Neil Hines filed a complaint on Nov. 12 in the Harris County District Court against Oscar G. Guerrero, doing business as O. Guerrero Construction, alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 7, 2017, defendant agreed to remodel plaintiffs' property for the sum of $11,500 to repair damages caused by Hurricane Harvey. The plaintiffs allege after the defendant started the work, they discovered the defendant and his workers did not have licenses, they failed to perform work in a professional manner, and the defendant hired unskilled laborers.

As a result, the plaintiffs they allege were required to hire a third-party contractor to complete and repair defendant's work.

The plaintiffs hold Guerrero responsible because the defendant did not perform the services in a good and workmanlike manner.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of $100,000 or less and such other and further relief to which they were justly entitled. They are represented by Haroon Rafati of The Rafati Law Firm PLLC in Katy.
