HOUSTON – An employee of a Harris County contractor is seeking $1 million in damages after falling from a scaffold at a work site.

Fernando Salinas filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the Harris County District Court against Mission Constructors Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 13, he was in the course and scope of his employment and/or agency with the defendant when he fell from a scaffold. He alleges he sustained severe injuries resulting in pain, mental anguish, physical impairment, lost wages and medical care and treatment expenses.

The plaintiff holds Mission Constructors Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequately safe equipment and failed to provide sufficient training and supervision.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other relief deemed appropriate. He is represented by Brent M. Cordell of Smith & Hassler in Houston.
