HOUSTON – A Pampa man alleges a Houston employer terminated him because of his disability.

Curtis Broaddus filed a complaint on Nov. 19 in the Harris County District Court against TNT Crane & Rigging Inc. alleging age and disability discrimination and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is 60 years old and began his employment with the defendant in May 2017. He alleges at the time he was hired, the defendant knew about his previous diagnosis of bladder cancer.

The plaintiff alleges he sought medical treatment related to his disability in June 2017, and he was subjected to harassment and retaliatory treatment beginning in August 2017. He alleges he reported an accident in August 2017, and then was terminated on Sept. 7, 2017, after a brief hospital stay.

The plaintiff holds TNT Crane & Rigging Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against him on the basis of his age and disability, failed to provide reasonable accommodation and retaliated against him by terminating his employment for opposing discriminatory acts.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $500,000 and such other and further relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by Timothy T. Pridmore, Michael J. Zant and Cooper L. McDaniel of McWhorter, Cobb & Johnson LLP in Lubbock.
