BEAUMONT – An Orange County man alleges the negligence of a Jefferson County physician caused paralysis.

Raymond Parish filed a complaint on Oct. 29 in the Jefferson County District Court against Golden Triangle Neurocare LLP, Dr. Ian F. Angel and Ian F. Angel MD, PA alleging medical negligence.

According to the complaint, Angel performed back surgery on the plaintiff in August 2016 and the plaintiff alleges he began exhibiting signs of a cerebrospinal fluid leak after he was discharged. The plaintiff alleges Angel caused a durotomy and he needed surgery to repair it, and that this Aug. 21, 2016, surgery caused complete paralysis of his left leg and foot drop.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants' alleged negligence caused his injuries and damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Craig Lewis and Aaron J. Arenas of The Lewis Law Firm in Houston.
