GALVESTON – A Harris County woman alleges she was injured in a grocery store when a substance on the floor caused her to fall.

Amy Suzanne Beck filed a complaint on Nov. 26 in the Galveston County District Court against The Kroger Co. alleging breach of the duty of ordinary care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 15, 2017, she was in defendant's Seabrook Kroger grocery store to pick up her daughter when she fell because of a foreign substance on the floor. She alleges she injured her lower back and tailbone as a result.

The plaintiff holds The Kroger Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to mop up the foreign substance in a timely manner and failed to place warning signs.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000. She is represented by Mark Aronowitz in Texas City.
