HOUSTON – A Mississippi man has filed a lawsuit against ENSCO International, Inc., accusing the offshore drilling company of firing him because of his age.
In court documents filed on Nov. 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas, William Brewer says that he returned from a hitch in Southeast Asia in early April 2017 when the defendant informed him that he was terminated.
Brewer’s offshore installation manager position was “made redundant, and though ENSCO reassured Brewer that his termination had nothing to do with his performance, it replaced him with a “much younger person,” the suit says.
Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
He is represented by John H. McFarland of the law firm Joyce + McFarland LLP in Houston.
