Man says he is owed funds from mature promissory note

HOUSTON – A local man claims that he is owed funds from a promissory note had has filed a lawsuit, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Carlos Ariza initiated legal action against Penrith, Inc. on Dec. 4 in the Harris County 270th District Court, asserting the defendant has an outstanding $15,845.49 debt to him.

The subject amount arises from a promissory note that was executed on July 26, 2017. The note matured on Dec. 31, 2017.

According to Ariza, he “is still the lawful owner and holder” of the note. He says that Penrith “has refused to pay” to this day.

Keith A. Phillips of Houston is representing the plaintiff.
